The Adventures of Forever Dog: The Ball

He’s at it again!  Forever Dog runs helter skelter in the park with his treasured miniature tennis ball!

Even though Forever Dog has his name written VERY CLEARLY on the ball, other crafty little dogs try to steal it! – SEE FOR YOURSELF!!!

But when it comes to this ball, Forever Dog is a fierce protector.

No one can catch him!  The ball is his and always will be!!!

He’ll stay for hours outside with the ball, even as the sun is going down, goshdangit, he’s still got that ball!

Is there a treat for bringing back the ball and not making Mommy go search for it? – Affirmative, Captain!

Alas, one must always cut short “fun time”… A despondent Forever Dog hopes tomorrow will bring sunshine so that he and Ball will be reunited once more… For now, he must take comfort in Lamby.

Forever Dog and the changing seasons

I love Autumn.  The crisp air, the falling leaves, miniature pumpkins, throwing on a jacket without need for scarves and gloves… and of course long walks in the park with Forever Dog, Sammy.

The only trouble is, when it rains, the autumnal brisk air and the grit from the park often means the inevitable… bath time…

So many people email me asking how I keep Sammy so white!  Since he snuggles with us, we don’t want the furniture getting dirty, so we rinse his paws in warm water and rinse other areas where he tracks dirt (he likes to roll on his back in the grass).  We don’t use soap on him too often (because it’s not good for dogs’ skin), only about once a month to give him a good washing, but most of the time it is just warm water baths and post-bath swaddling!  We also clean his eyes every morning (you can use warm water and soft cloth, though I mainly use my hands!) to clean his eyes, which is why he does not have tear staining as many dogs, particularly white ones, tend to have.  I don’t believe that those tear stain removal solutions are healthy, but that’s just me. :-)

Hope all of you and your furry mates are enjoying the change in seasons as we are.

New enhancements at Forever & Ever

If you’re reading this, then perhaps you’ve already noticed some new enhancements to Forever & Ever :) .  I am so pleased and cannot wait to integrate more images from recent weddings into the site – but most of all, I am absolutely giddy with excitement that the Forever & Ever mascot, Sammy the morkie, has made it into illustrative form!

As the Forever & Ever mascot, Sammy is often requested to accompany me at meetings and, even, site visits! (obviously, so long as the venue is dog-friendly).  I love that my clients love having him resting by our feet as we discuss wedding ideas over coffee and cakes.  :)  He doesn’t care for coffee so much, but he does love cakes and, let’s just say, it is difficult to say no to that face.

Confession: I do feel guilty that my wonderful cat, Howard Raingold, does not often grace the Forever & Ever Blog or the site, so I have to give him a little love here.  Howie is loved just as much as Sammy, but, as a cat, his needs are very different and he is very independent.  He is the most patient cat in the world, putting up with Sammy’s jumps, sniffs, and occasional mounting (the neutering did very little in that department).

As a purely indoor cat, it is impossible to bring Howie out with me.  And I’m not sure that Howie could sit still by my feet during coffee meetings either.

Thanks to the amazing Lauren for her artistic hand – can’t wait to continue exciting new projects together, L!

Friends, photography + modelling a scarf

There is nothing like a good catch-up with pals.  Yesterday, I arrived at the York & Albany to catch up with two such pals (who also happen to be two very talented photographers in London).  Alicia, Aneta and I gabbed over some summer wine and then I felt compelled to try a few scarf styles on all of us.  I don’t know why, it just felt right, okay?  This is one of my favorite scarves from French designer Manoush and I wrapped it around my head in turban-esque fashion.

Check out Alicia, looking all fierce.

And intense.

Not to be out-staged, Aneta knew how to rock the scarf as a hair accessory.

She is such a cutie-pie – don’t you just love her?!

Later, Forever Dog Samson showed me how it’s really done – as a kimono belt, oh, SNAP!

Unfortunately for Sammy, the humiliation didn’t quite end there…

OK, so perhaps that was going a bit too far! ;-)

If you haven’t already, you’ve GOT to get these ladies to photograph your next wedding, soiree, kids, pets, everything:

Alicia Pollett specializes in lifestyle, portraiture and food photography – check out her website and blog for more.

Aneta Mak specializes in wedding fine art photography – check out her website and blog for more of her work.

Until next time, Ladies!  Muah! – MLH xx

Forever Dog and his sock

Unfortunately, I don’t have a new instalment of “Sammy’s Friends” from the weekend, because poor Forever Dog Samson has had an injury to his right paw!  It is not serious, but we do have to keep it in a sock to prevent him from licking it raw. :(

We must confess that he looks crazy cute walking around with this sock…

You can see his bandage peeking out here…

Discomfort in paw hasn’t affected his curiosity, though, has it!

Po’ wittle Forever Dog.

Forever Dog is at it again! New series: Sammys friends

Due to popular demand for more blogging of the Forever & Ever mascot, Samson, I’m starting a new series called “Sammy’s friends”! :)  This first instalment is fresh from our recent jaunts in the park, where Forever Dog Samson catches up on some hot doggity gossip with his pals.

Sticks & stones will break my bones… er, not really for these guys…

He loves groups – both people and dogs.

Some of Sammy’s pals.

He met a bigger friend and was a bit apprehensive at first…

Hope everybody had as nice an Easter as Forever Dog Samson did.  More of “Sammy’s Friends” to come soon!

Forever & Ever Pets Review Xmas

The official review of Christmas 2010 is here!  Direct from the Forever & Ever Pets themselves…

Forever Dog, Samson: “I ate, I ate and I ate.  The humans ate lobster and king crab and the smell was, AROOOO!, so good, I just had to beg!  My mommy kept calling me ‘Sammy Claus’, maybe because of the annoying hat, which kept tickling my ears, but as long as I got fed the human food and not the usual stuff from the can, I let her dress me in the hat and the strange pajamas.”

Forever Cat, Howard: “I was curious about the strange boxes and wrapping paper and sat on them because that is what I do when I see new objects appear in the house.”

Sounds to me like a glowing review!

Forever Dog Samson debuts his first music video!

♥ The above Mr. & Mrs. highball glasses would make a great and fun wedding present, no?!  Let the new “Mr. & Mrs.”unwind after a long day and toast to their new lives together, shaken, not stirred, of course

Ruffled is perhaps the prettiest wedding blog out there, so I naturally have a (healthy) obsession with its creative director and partner, Amanda + Matt. ;-) Check out their vintage wedding, the original inspiration from which sprung forth the continually inspiring web publication.

♥ Brrr, it’s cold outside!  He may have fur, but he also shivers from the cold, so bundle up your pup in one of these puppy knits – handmade by a friend of a friend.

♥ Bunting may be overdone, but I still love it.  Make your own out of recycled magazine paper – easy peasy.

♥ If bunting is just too much to handle, you can create cupcake garlands – seriously so easy, it doesn’t require cutting out patterns or anything other than string + needle.

♥ How flippin’ cute are these cupcake boxes?!  Cupcakes are trendy and oh-so-yummy, so give them away as favors at your wedding or party in style.

♥ Your couch can never have too many throw pillows – so get this customized heart etched on tree pillow with yours and your honey’s name.

♥ And I’ve just got to toot my own horn: check out Jeff + Laurie’s wedding at the Dorchester, featured on OMG I’m Getting Married!

I’ve got to leave you with these because this little guy needs to make his check-up at (shhh!) the vet now! x

Forever Friday Links 11.13.10

I have been a bit absent with the Forever Friday Links of late – totally my bad! ;)  Sometimes these things happen when juggling a million different things as an entrepreneur, but, hey, enough with lame excuses.  Onto some web destinations that you must check out over the weekend, starting with this extremely easy + sophisticated + sexy side chignon:

♥ The side chignon above is so easy and will turn any ensemble (whether a simple black top, white tank, or LBD) into instant glam.  A really beautiful hairdo for a wedding, no?  Find the instructions here and more instructions here.

♥ I am a stationery and office supply junkie.  I think I might just buy this entire shop out.  So many cute masking tapes, clips, vintage stamps – gift wrapping and organizing your desk will never be dull.

♥ Many of you don’t know that I am near-sighted and just hate wearing my glasses (unless I drive).  It is so hard to find cool frames especially when you won’t want to drop 500 clams on the latest designer craze.  Well, I just found Mod Vintage on Etsy, where you can get dead cool frames for – wait for this – like, 50 dollars!  Right, I do quite like Cutler + Gross, but they can seriously take their demand for £250 and shove it.  I mean, hello, why drop that kind of dosh when you’ve got these babies from Mod Vintage:

♥ Need inspiration for your wedding photos?  You’ve got to check out Caught the Light‘s photos of a wedding in Zurich.  Trams, boats, lake, croissants galore.

♥ I have put a moratorium on shopping, but that doesn’t mean I can’t covet.  How I love Parisian cool, aka APC.

♥ Rosie Parsons representin’ England on Ruffled, yo!  That Delphine Manivet gown is a killer.

♥ Finally, did you know this past week was London Dog Week?  In the spirit of London Dog Week, our local pet shop gave away little goodie bags for each visiting dog!  Sammy loves presents, although we think he was confused by the strange footballer-elephant toy with bizarre phallus nose. {if you look in the back, you’ll see one of his favorite toys: a red Christian Loubarktin shoe – what can I say, he’s a fashiondogsta}.

Have a great weekend!
